Kim was an absolutely amazing DJ for our wedding. My wife joked that I was a bit of a Groomzilla about the music, but that’s just because I know that’s what really makes a wedding. Once we saw Kim I knew we had our DJ. She has an immense knowledge of music and knew exactly what to play and when to play it. We were able to talk beforehand and give her our ideas for what type of music we liked and she created an awesome set off of that. She was especially helpful with selecting the perfect music for that dinner/post dinner time before all the real serious dancing begins.

They took the time to hear what we wanted and make suggestions. The actual day was a dream! They read the crowd, played our favorites and were great with the announcements. Any changes or requests were promptly accommodated. We also got our open air photo booth through them which was a huge hit. The attendants were very friendly and great with the kids in attendance.

We received numerous comments from our guests that he did a great job (and even requests from our engaged friends to pass along his contact info!). He was one of our absolute favorite vendors. He had EVERYONE dancing, from age 3 to 91. I cannot say enough good things about Evan and No Macarena. You can’t go wrong with these guys!!

We got to pick our own playlist, and our wonderful DJ, Rod, went above and beyond to make preparing the songs and the night itself seemless and perfect. Rod gave us a wonderfully personal touch and was flexible whenever we needed to make tweaks to the program or songs. He also sent us songs before hand so we could double check that what he would play during the first dance etc was exactly the version we wanted. The owners also had a baby while we were planning and still went out of their way to help us. I would recommend no macarena to anyone!

Evan did all the announcements we asked for, but the rest of the time he focused on the music. That’s exactly what we were looking for. Working with this company is extremely easy. Oh do we love this DJ company! My husband was the last of three to get married in his family, and his two older brothers used this company when they both got married. They play what YOU want. Our DJ (Ken) was not over the top — he had just the right amount of interaction with the crowd. We gave him a VERY comprehensive list of what to play and what not to play — and he followed it to a tee — and even easily changed it up when things weren’t getting going. If you want no ‘cheese’, this is the company to use. We needed him to play our ceremony music, too, and he did a fabulous job. When our guests made requests, he was able to accomodate them quickly. We highly recommend them — and Kim, the owner, is organized and incredibly helpful!

My husband and I have extremely different tastes in music, and somehow Darrel figured out how to keep both of us happy AND keep our dance floor packed all night. So many of our guests complimented us on our song list, and we had to tell them that Darrel deserved full credit; we told him what we generally like and dislike and let him run with it, and he absolutely crushed it. Plus, we told Darrel that volume and sound quality are important to us, and he made sure that the music was loud enough to keep the party going but that we did not have to shout to have conversations. We’d give more than 5 stars if we could!

He really understood our music taste and the general vibe of the room. Even the guests who don’t like to dance were still grooving in their seats! Can’t say enough about what an amazing job he did. As a bride, the whole day is a blur so it’s important to have vendors and a team that you can trust to take care of what’s needed. Rod and No Macarena totally nailed it and helped make the whole evening run smoothly.

We had some goofy musical choices, a lot of song transitions for the ceremony and introductions, and we did NOT want any of the usual lame DJ chatter. From the moment I talked to Kim on the phone for the first time, I knew she was the DJ for us. She was responsive, totally understood the vibe that I was going for, and seriously reasonably priced. I actually felt guilty after filling out my music sheet for her because I felt like we were asking so much, but she delivered in spades and made our wedding so memorable. The transitions and announcements were perfect, and we had guests on the dance floor through the very last song. We received so many compliments on the music, and my husband’s sister even asked us if she could get a copy of the night’s playlist! It was that good. If you want a DJ with a chill vibe but amazing music, Kim is your person without a doubt. Thank you!!!!

No Macarena was recommended to me by a friend of a friend who had them at her wedding. From my first interaction with Kim she was upbeat, helpful and professional. Darrell was our DJ and when we met with him to discuss our plan, he was knowledgeable about the playlist and agenda we sent over to him, and clearly reviewed it all thoroughly prior to our chat. He respected our wishes of staying off the mic except for a few announcements (which I think is just their “thing” anyway!) and not allowing any ridiculous requests to be played — but did so in a respectful manner with our guests. He kept the entire night flowing, not just with the music, but with each event that happened (first dance, dinner, etc). The music was appropriate for the time of the evening each step of the way, and he was just truly a great person to work with. We’d recommend No Macarena to anyone, and I hope my friends have them at their event so we can experience it as guests!

We were worried people wouldn’t dance at our reception but we didn’t need to be, Evan kept everyone on the dance floor literally the whole night! He played a perfect mix of modern and classics, everyone from my friends to my grandparents complimented us on it. My sister-in-law surprised us by booking him to play for our after party and he kept us dancing until 1 am! It was such an incredible, energy-charged night and Evan was such a huge part of making that happen, we can’t thank him enough! No Macarena has really reasonable prices as well, I cannot recommend them more highly.

My husband and I put together an extensive list of our preferred songs and Dave was able to weave them together to create a great mix that lasted through the night. Amazing vendors really allow you to enjoy the day to the fullest extent and Dave and No Macarena DJs were definitely a big part of that!!

We found and hired Kim from No Macarena because of her slew of amazing reviews as a down to earth, friendly, and non-cheesy DJ. She definitely delivered! We really hate when DJs essentially harass guests into dancing or participating in wedding activities (garter toss? just….no.) so we immediately clicked with the company’s name. We had a couple of wrenches thrown into the reception, and Kim responded quickly and with grace. She’s flexible and is so professional that she doesn’t mind if plans need to change. In fact, it began POURING the hour before our outdoor ceremony and we stubbornly insisted on continuing plans for outside. Kim went along with it and made us feel better 🙂 Our friends had a great time dancing, and my favorite part by far was circling up in a huge group to the last song, “Closing Time.” Because ’90s.

Kim found a way to blend together our ‘must-haves’ with similar songs in the genre and when we gave her our “no play” list, we could feel the high-five through the phone as we could tell she was tired of playing them too. So many guests remarked how our set list was incredible. At a typical wedding, the music hits and misses with a few solid dance songs that get people out there, a few groaners that people begrudgingly dance to and some “huh?” songs that people use as an excuse to nibble their dessert or grab another drink. At our wedding, it was non-stop dancing and fun and our guests let us know how awesome it was. Thank you Kim!

He played everything for the ceremony that we asked and exactly on cue. Our reception was awesome and it was largely because the music was exactly on point and what we had requested. The dance floor was full the entire night. Dave has a great personality – he interjected himself when necessary to move the night along but he never made himself the center of attention. We were extremely impressed as were all of our guests. Thank you very much!

She read the room perfectly and played the perfect songs at each moment, transitioning seamlessly. She even put up with my husband had many, many song requests. He was so great at receiving that huge list. I am Iranian and mu husband is American so there was a lot of International music there as well. Joe actually owned most of the music I sent him! He has a huge collection of diverse musics. we talked on the phone about what we really didn’t want and what we did want and he was so great at listening to all our needs and helping us through. On the day of wedding, he showed up dressed in a beautiful suit although it was a verrry hot day in September. He was absolutely professional. He played everything as it was planned. He had a great sense on seemlessly mixing all these different genres that we have given him. Everyone was on the dance floor having fun. He could feel the energy so well. He coordinated with the caterers and the photographer for every single detail that was needed in the back. We didn’t really want a loud DJ and Joe absolutely respected our wish. I would work with him again and again. Thank you so much for your incredible service!

My husband and I worked with No Macarena for our wedding and could not have been happier. We connected with Kim immediately during our first call and knew she would be the ideal fit for our wedding. Kim was very responsive and gave us great direction in planning the music for our wedding reception. As part of the planning processing, Kim had us complete an information sheet on our musical likes and dislikes. Initially, we went way over board, proposing at least 100 songs we thought should be played at our wedding reception at different times. Kim leveled with us (gently), and recommended that she work with the themes and play our top songs (thank you Kim!). Kim was 100% right. She responded to the feelings of the crowd and kept the party going all night. Kim made sure to save our favorite songs for when we were on the dance floor. No Macarena was a top vendor for our wedding. Kim was so professional, responsive, and easy to work with. We received countless compliments on our DJ from our guests and even other vendors. We found No Macrena’s pricing to be very reasonable, especially given the quality and overall experience. I would 100% book with No Macarena again and have since recommended No Macarena to other brides

We decided against walking down the aisle and opted out of a few of the traditional wedding moments, and Danny helped create a very smooth experience for us and our guests. We are music lovers, so we came with a lot of music recommendations which he primarily used. When he went off script (which he was allowed to :)) the music was still great. We are thrilled with our decision to work with No Macarena and Danny Madonna in particular. Everyone we spoke with was very informed and helpful in letting us know what we information we need to provide, and decisions we needed to make. We decided against walking down the aisle and opted out of a few of the traditional wedding moments, and Danny helped create a very smooth experience for us and our guests. We are music lovers, so we came with a lot of music recommendations which he primarily used. When he went off script (which he was allowed to :)) the music was still great. The guests had so much fun and so did we. Cannot recommend enough!

We used No Macarena for our wedding and they were amazing. First, working with Kim was very easy and a great experience. Our DJ ended up being Darrel and he was truly the perfect DJ for our event! We sent him a Spotify play list and he did such a good job bringing some of those songs into the playlist as well as elaborating on our taste to make it an overall great mix of songs. He was thoughtful throughout the entire evening and went with the flow when things were changed up a bit. He did a great job of announcing the events of the evening without being on the mic too much. Darrel was able to read the dance floor and kept the party going the entire night. Our goal was to have a DJ who wasn’t corny but we ended up getting so much more! We cannot say enough about No Macarena. One of our best wedding planning decisions was hiring Kim Alexander. She was FANTASTIC! From our first conversation with her, we were impressed. She was attentive to detail, incredibly knowledgeable, asked great questions to figure out our taste, and made the whole process super easy and fun. My now husband and I have quite an eclectic taste in music and we had some unique requests for dinner/cocktail hour – she absolutely nailed the song selection for the night and we seriously could not be happier. Our guests (almost all 165 of them, from all different age groups) were up dancing ALL night – from the first song ’til the last. We loved how simple everything was and how easy Kim was to work with. The music was a HUGE highlight of our wedding night and we have Kim and No Macarena to thank for that. Going into my wedding night, I did not anticipate dancing the entire time, but it turned out that I couldn’t leave the dance floor – it was too much fun.

Unfortunately at the last minute the guitarist for our ceremony did not show up, so Kim took charged and played for us down the aisle. It actually was even better because she knew exactly what to do. Sarah was always very professional, encouraging, and very quick to respond to any questions we had. She organized an initial call to get to know us better within a day of us sending them a message. Neither of us were based in the US at the time, and they were very accommodating to have zoom calls with us. Our DJ, Rod, was fantastic. He was very accommodating and not at all demanding, which is a great combo. He was very happy to work with whatever we wanted and had. He took the time to read our timeline and plan for the day, and made sure to have a call with us so we were on the same page. His execution of the ceremony, spotlight dances, table dash, toast, it was all perfectly on point. He also adapted very well to how the day was going. He kept the crowd on the dance floor the whole evening and night, so much so that we didn’t get to talk to all of our guests properly! Thanks again for making our day so special!

We initially thought we’d do our music ourselves, but when it became clear we weren’t prepared to do that, we contacted No Macarena just a couple of weeks before our December wedding. They moved quickly and set up a time to discuss by phone what we had in mind for our wedding. They asked all the right questions and thought of details that never would have occurred to us. We had asked our guests who RSVPed through the website to name a song that would get them dancing. We gave our DJ, Josh, this rather eclectic list along with a considerable list of our own requests, including a number of foreign language songs (Italian) that I’m sure were not part of his usual lineup. He honored them all and did an excellent job of choosing other songs based on our tastes, reading the room and taking us seamlessly through different musical styles. Everyone from the disco-loving aunts to the Miami Reggaeton-fan cousins danced, and even my music snob friends commented on how much they liked the music.

Kim found a way to blend together our ‘must-haves’ with similar songs in the genre and when we gave her our “no play” list, we could feel the high-five through the phone as we could tell she was tired of playing them too. So many guests remarked how our set list was incredible. At a typical wedding, the music hits and misses with a few solid dance songs that get people out there, a few groaners that people begrudgingly dance to and some “huh?” songs that people use as an excuse to nibble their dessert or grab another drink. At our wedding, it was non-stop dancing and fun and our guests let us know how awesome it was. Thank you Kim!

We were so happy we went with No Macarena. Working with Kim via email leading up to the wedding was a breeze, even though we were planning our wedding in PA from CA. Evan was our DJ for our reception. He was great to work with and very professional. My husband and I met as radio DJs in college, and therefore had an insanely detailed list of must play songs, requests, and no plays. He was very cool about going over our requests and suggestions the week before, and was able to play a lot of what we asked for. He did a good job organizing the wedding party line up to go into the reception, and played the songs we wanted for the wedding party entrance and our entrance. I was thrilled that everyone’s names were pronounced well. He made sure that we did the father/daughter and mother/son dances, and played the songs we wanted for the cake cutting and last dances. As promised, he stayed off the mic, and only used it to announce things which we had talked about. He did a great job setting up the second sound system for the ceremony outdoors. We are so glad because our guests could hear the ceremony and vows, which made a huge difference. The level of music was perfect during dinner, and during dancing it was loud enough for people dancing, and not too loud for people talking in the back. He was able to fit in a lot of what we wanted to hear and honored our no play list, which was awesome and the reason why we wanted to work with No Macarena.

From the ceremony music to the reception music, the toasts to the parent dances, and our last dance and send off, he was on the ball. He incorporated our music into music that our guests loved, and really made the night feel like it was ours. We even had a few surprises we wanted to do and Dave executed them flawlessly. Once we saw Kim I knew we had our DJ. She has an immense knowledge of music and knew exactly what to play and when to play it. We were able to talk beforehand and give her our ideas for what type of music we liked and she created an awesome set off of that. Kim was very easy to communicate with during the planning process. Josh took the time to get our song preferences including songs we did not want to hear. He was very good about respectfully letting the guests know which songs we had asked not to be played. He played every single song we did request, and the flow of the evening went so well. Josh had some great suggestions for the event too. For example, my husband and I were feeling a little nervous about a traditional first dance with all eyes on us. Josh helped us structure a first dance that was much more relaxed and open to all the guests but still gave us that special moment. Overall, this group takes the time to get to know their clients and build the perfect evening. They have amazing music knowledge and were able to keep everyone on the dance floor. We received so many compliments on the music for the evening. Thank you Kim and Josh!

Kim found a way to blend together our ‘must-haves’ with similar songs in the genre and when we gave her our “no play” list, we could feel the high-five through the phone as we could tell she was tired of playing them too. So many guests remarked how our set list was incredible. At a typical wedding, the music hits and misses with a few solid dance songs that get people out there, a few groaners that people begrudgingly dance to and some “huh?” songs that people use as an excuse to nibble their dessert or grab another drink. At our wedding, it was non-stop dancing and fun and our guests let us know how awesome it was. Thank you Kim!

Prior to the wedding we submitted a list of songs we liked to D.J. Jonas. He called us and provided really good feedback on the list. He understand our taste in music and made a few good suggestions on songs we could add that would cater to some of our older guests. At the wedding, D.J. Jonas was great. He really took charge of organizing our fairly large wedding party for introductions and stuck to playing the music he requested. The day after the wedding, one of our guests complained that D.J. Jonas, despite taking some requests from guests, refused to play the Kelly Clarkson song she requested. That is when I truly realized D.J. Jonas’s value! We cannot say enough about No Macarena. One of our best wedding planning decisions was hiring Kim Alexander. She was FANTASTIC! From our first conversation with her, we were impressed. She was attentive to detail, incredibly knowledgeable, asked great questions to figure out our taste, and made the whole process super easy and fun. My now husband and I have quite an eclectic taste in music and we had some unique requests for dinner/cocktail hour – she absolutely nailed the song selection for the night and we seriously could not be happier. Our guests (almost all 165 of them, from all different age groups) were up dancing ALL night – from the first song ’til the last. We loved how simple everything was and how easy Kim was to work with. The music was a HUGE highlight of our wedding night and we have Kim and No Macarena to thank for that. Going into my wedding night, I did not anticipate dancing the entire time, but it turned out that I couldn’t leave the dance floor – it was too much fun.

So we were set up with Evan and he agreed to meet with us before we made our decision. As soon as he walked into Starbucks I knew he was the DJ for us. He was so so nice, genuine, engaging, and interesting. We spent over an hour just talking and laughing with him. I booked No Macarena that day and I told my husband I would be heartbroken if something happened and we ended up with another DJ. Well everything went perfectly and Evan was there for our day. He did an amazing job and had everyone dancing. He even found a Nicaraguan song that my cousins needed to do a traditional Nicaraguan dance. We were thrilled with our experience with No Macarena. They DJ’d our wedding at Bok in South Philly in September 2018. Our initial communication was with Kim Alexander (owner), who took the time to understand our needs and work out our contract. A few weeks before our wedding, we had a great phone call with our DJ (Joe Pizzio) who was outstanding to work with. We had been considering doing the DIY/Spotify route and Joe was great about taking the playlists we had compiled and putting his own spin on them. He largely stuck with the songs we’d been considering (without making us feel weird about it) but had some great additions and really made the evening flow — lots of thoughtful transitions (Lauryn Hill’s “Doo Wop” into Drake’s “Nice For What”, which features a Lauryn Hill sample in the hook, wasn’t lost on us), wasn’t afraid to transition out of a song that the room wasn’t not feeling, etc. Can’t speak highly enough about how pleased we were with Joe and No Macarena in general. Highly recommended!

A few weeks before the wedding Dave and I talked on the phone, and I was impressed by how organized he was and his attention to details (for example, making sure he had everyone’s names pronounced correctly for our introductions). My husband and I kept changing things last minute, and Dave wasn’t bothered at all by my emails (or, he didn’t let on to be!). I had given Dave a few specific songs, but other than that I gave him very general genre-type guidelines. On the day of my wedding, the music was awesome!! He kept everyone on the dance floor the entire night. And, yes, it’s true – they really will not play any songs that you list on the “don’t play” list. My brother tried to request one and got shot down! Dave even went the extra mile, setting up speakers in the cocktail area when my venue’s sound system wouldn’t work. I would definitely recommend No Macarena DJ to anyone having a wedding in the Philadelphia area. They were pleasant, affordable, and really made an effort to make sure the music at my wedding was personal.

We hired “No Macarena” DJ & Custom Music Service for our recent wedding, and we could not have had a better experience. Our wedding planner (an alum from the live music production industry) recommended Kim at “No Macarena” to us, and we were so happy with her services. After all the more traditional wedding elements, we wanted a great dance party where all of our guests would have a great time, and that’s exactly what we got. All communication with Kim was punctual, friendly and professional, and she was able to adeptly incorporate all (seriously, all) of our song requests, even the ones that were somewhat obscure or unusual. She took the time to have a detailed conversation with us ahead of time to clarify the genres of music we were going for, and she made sure to discuss any specific song requests that needed a place in the flow of the dancing. We landed on a mix of ’70s disco and ’80s-’90s hip hop, with some current dance hits mixed in, based on the age ranges of our guests and our preferences. She nailed this mixture perfectly and every song had a combination of the younger and older guests all dancing and singing along. She avoided all the stereotypical wedding songs we thought were overplayed, and of course avoided all the line dancing songs we didn’t want, too. Even though I was the bride and probably should have been visiting with guests more throughout the night, I was on the dance floor all night instead. I couldn’t get over the song selection and how she knew to play certain songs that we hadn’t even necessarily discussed in our phone conversation, especially those that had personal meaning to us even if they weren’t necessarily crowd favorites. “No Macarena” truly made our wedding special to us and a ton of fun for our guests – we highly recommend Kim and her team to anyone in the Philly area looking for a DJ. We can’t thank you enough, Kim!

After we had to move our wedding date and lost our wedding DJ, we reached out to No Macarena for help at the last minute. We worked with Christian who was kind and understood what we wanted. He had a great mix of crowd pleasers and our requested songs. We weren’t terribly specific because we wanted some element of surprise and we were pleased with the result. Dancing wasn’t allowed due to Delaware COVID policy, but he really brought a sense of joy without too much energy. To be frank, as the bride I wasn’t paying attention too much to the music, but it was so nice to hear a song I recognized once in a while. We really wanted a party that took care of our guests, and Christian did a great job of maintaining a good mood. I saw glimpses of people enjoying the music and my conservative mother dancing in her seat, so that’s always a good sign! They’re great if you want a reliably good time.

Choosing to work with Kim Alexander, founder of No Macarena DJ & Custom Music Service, was one of the best decisions we made. I first reached out to Kim in December of 2013 for our October 2014 wedding — she was recommended by one of my coworkers, by one of the caterers we were considering, and by Adriana Robinson (site manager of our venue). She replied to my email on the same day with a copy of her standard contract and some additional site-specific info on our venue. I was sold on booking No Macarena, but my husband wanted to pursue hiring a friend. Four months later we were left high and dry. I frantically sent an email to Kim to see if she was still available. She was prompt in her response and four days later we sent her our $500 deposit. We loved how transparent Kim was with her fees, you won’t find any nickel-and-diming here. Our wedding venue, the Colonial Dames, is a 2-story, early 1920’s house with several beautiful, private gardens. We had our ceremony outside in the garden, moved inside on the first level for the cocktail hour, and then upstairs for our reception. Kim was with us every step of the way from ceremony prelude to the last song of the night. Kim listened to our varied tastes — we requested Pride & Prejudice (BBC & motion picture) music as well as Nirvana, Texas is the Reason, and Alice in Chains — and tailored her selections to our crowd (30% baby boomers, 60% Gen X/Y). Kim was phenomenal! She pulled back on the volume during our tapas style dinner so our guests could mix and mingle without having to shout at one another, then got the party started with some oldies (but goodies) when it was time to dance. We highly recommend Kim and No Macarena.

Our wedding was anything but normal, but Chris and Sarah of No Macarena made sure the live music and DJ set was above and beyond what we could have expected. Their deep love for what they do and for music itself was evident throughout the entire process. While putting everything together, Sarah and Chris asked detailed questions to make sure the ceremony and reception were exactly what we wanted. Some of the questions I had never even thought of, but they knew exactly how to make the event flow music-wise. They were very communicative in the time leading up to the wedding too, which we absolutely appreciated. The day of, they were early and ready with their setup well before guests started arriving. Sarah provided live acoustic guitar and singing for the ceremony while Chris made sure the sound was on point. (My husband is a musician too so the sound quality was VERY important and Chris definitely delivered.) Sarah’s voice though! The passion and soul in her voice provided the most romantic atmosphere as my parents walked me down the aisle. No Macarena took our extremely random song requests for the reception and used their professional experience to help them all make sense together. As an emcee, Chris kept the energy up and was extremely personable as we’d hoped our DJ would be! The lights they provided created an energetic atmosphere, which I wasn’t sure could even happen for a micro wedding! No Macarena maintained complete professionalism while being two of the most personable people my now-husband and I have ever met. I seriously thought about how much I would love to be friends with them! There is no doubt in my mind that I want to hire them again. The whole experience with them was phenomenal and I’m already hoping that we can have another event just so we can be around their DJ skills and musicianship. Like I said, No Macarena blew us away!

From scheduling with Kim a year in advance, to a conference call with Evan the week of the wedding to confirm what we wanted- working with No Macarena was a pleasure. The evening of our rehearsal we realized the the nearby air conditioning unit was louder than we were. In a moment of panic I called Evan, who within minutes, less than 24 hours before the wedding arranged to bring and set up a second sound system for the ceremony. The music was seemless, and it is notable that in every photo of our reception, our guests were dancing- thanks to Evan at No Macarena!

Darrell was our DJ and when we met with him to discuss our plan, he was knowledgeable about the playlist and agenda we sent over to him, and clearly reviewed it all thoroughly prior to our chat. He respected our wishes of staying off the mic except for a few announcements (which I think is just their “thing” anyway!) and not allowing any ridiculous requests to be played — but did so in a respectful manner with our guests. He kept the entire night flowing, not just with the music, but with each event that happened (first dance, dinner, etc). The music was appropriate for the time of the evening each step of the way, and he was just truly a great person to work with. We’d recommend No Macarena to anyone, and I hope my friends have them at their event so we can experience it as guests!

My husband and I got married on 4/21/23 and we cannot say enough positive things about “No Macarena” DJ! From the beginning we had great communication and clear understanding of pricing and details. We were assigned Jonas early on and when we connected with him a few weeks before our wedding, we knew we got matched with the perfect DJ! He took the time to go through our lists of songs and spoke to us over the phone to confirm everything. We had to make a slight adjustment to the order of things the day of the wedding and he rolled with the punches. We wanted to make our wedding day feel special and intimate and the music was a huge part of that – they delivered! The dance floor was packed all night and guests of all ages were tearing it up. Jonas transitioned the songs seamlessly from all the different song genres we picked out. Our family and friends are still raving about how much fun they had at the wedding. We came across No Macarena online because we were drawn to the name! My husband and I had recently been to a couple weddings where the music was a little cheesy and the DJ hogged the mic all night. We were looking for something that didn’t remind us of a Bar Mitzvah from the 1990s… From our first phone call with Kim, we felt reassured that we had made the right choice with No Macarena. Kim was a great vendor to work with- she was always very professional and responded to our calls or emails promptly. Even more important, she was receptive to all our music requests. But we didn’t have to micromanage and give her a list of all the songs we wanted played- we just gave her a general outline of our musical tastes and she seamlessly filled in the blanks. On our wedding day, Kim was just wonderful! She provided sound systems for both the ceremony and reception and we had no technical or sound issues whatsoever. But the best part was how in tune Kim was with our guests and the “vibe” of our dance party. She seemed to be able to pick the perfect song to get the crowd out on the dance floor. We only wish we could have kept the party going longer! Kim of No Macarena was an amazing DJ and we highly recommend her!

We initially booked with No Macarena back in November 2022; it was an easy process to get started, and then we didn’t really think much more about it until a couple months before the wedding. No Macarena’s policy is to wait to pair you with a DJ until a couple weeks before the event, which was somewhat stressful for us — but the moment we connected with Rod, we were at ease. He was so warm, personable, and attentive! We met via Zoom to connect and talk through what we were needing and hoping for with the music for our wedding (ceremony, cocktail hour and reception). He asked the right questions, and we felt confident that we were all on the same page leading up to the wedding 🙂 And everything went so smoothly on the day-of! The dance floor was full from the moment it opened until the last song — partially because we have family and friends who love to dance, and partially because Rod is so skilled at reading the room. My husband works in music so it was a big deal for us on the day-of. The ceremony music was played without a hitch (I barely even coordinated this and it turned out perfectly!). Jamya did a perfect job of playing our requests while reading the crowd and keeping people on the dance floor. I danced almost the whole time! When I found No Macarena I knew they were right up our alley and we booked them, it was the 2nd thing we booked after the venue. Kim was our DJ and she was awesome! We needed music for our outside ceremony, the inside cocktail hour and reception so there was a lot to coordinate but the transition was so smooth and the sound was great. Kim worked from an extensive list of songs that we suggested and of course a “do not play” list. She also knew exactly what other similar bands and songs to play based on our tastes. I can’t say enough about No Macarena and Kim, they are professional, classy and play amazing music! The success of our wedding could not have been possible without them. Thank you!

Kim and I spoke a couple weeks before our wedding and she went through all of our music choices with me and definitely understood the vibe we wanted. Kim played music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. She did such a wonderful job being low key, feeling out our crowd and playing appropriate and awesome music! We received so many compliments afterwards from our guests telling us how much fun they had, especially on the dance floor. Kim kept the dancing going the entire night, which is something I was really hoping for! At one point we asked Kim to at “Let it Go” from Frozen, as it is our daughter and other flower girl’s favorite song, and Kim played it immediately! It definitely wasn’t a typical request, but Kim made it happen and our daughter put on quite the performance – it’s one of our favorite memories from the night! I would recommend No Macarena to any couple getting married, but especially to those who want a low key DJ who will only play music that you want and that will keep everyone dancing!

They were very responsive and checked in often through and calls and emails leading up to our wedding. There were a lot of questions that we didn’t have answers to that they took care of, and were super knowledgeable about every single step. At the wedding, they were not only amazing DJs who kept the crowd dancing all night, but they also provided live acoustic music throughout the ceremony and cocktail hour. Chris emceed the entire event flawlessly. He hyped up the crowd leading up to every announcement and was accommodating and supportive when we asked for last minute changes. Finally, they checked in after our day and sent us beautiful photos from the DJ booth. I had a completely stress free event thanks to them, and I would recommend them to literally anyone for their day.

I gave him a few playlists, and he played what I wanted. I have been to so many weddings that don’t respect the couple’s wishes. “No Macarena” respects you, listens to you, and follows through. Peter’s DJ table was also super fun, and smaller– which worked wonderfully as we were in a smaller venue. I wanted a DJ that would let me play whatever I wanted, and prepare a karaoke song– and I got just that! They are truly a custom music service.

Prior to the wedding, we had a phone call where we went over the thorough google doc provided by No Macarena about the music we were looking for for our wedding. They confirmed everything we had and asked great clarifying questions. They were very professional, showed up very early to make sure all their equipment was set up correctly, and communicated well with the event staff and my husband and I. Music is wildly important to both of us and we truly believe that the DJs can make or break a wedding. Joe and Mike MADE our wedding. They understood that we had a young crowd and we gave them the instructions of “keep everyone on the dance floor”. I can honestly say that once the dancing started, my husband and I never once left the dance floor. Joe was able to read the room like a book. He was able to build off of everyone’s reactions to what he had played before. Mike was great as our MC. He only cut into the music when necessary and went over the pronunciation of everyone’s names numerous times with us for introductions and nailed them all. At the end of the night, we requested a “Emo power half hour” and they DELIVERED. We received so many compliments about the music and had numerous people tell us it’s the best music they’ve ever heard at a wedding. I told Joe and Mike that I would recommend them to anyone getting married and I mean it!! We can not thank them enough for making our wedding unforgettable and the greatest party of the century. We were lucky enough to have Kim DJ our wedding, and let me just say, she could not have been more perfect! She was absolutely wonderful to work with – incredibly friendly and very professional! We discussed our musical interests a few days before the wedding, and she worked her magic to make our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception AMAZING! She was able to flawlessly provide music for our outdoor ceremony, barn cocktail hour, and pavilion reception at the John James Audubon Center without missing a beat! At some point in the night, my husband and I noticed that there were only about three guests sitting at the tables – Kim had everyone dancing ALL NIGHT! Aside from that, we had an amazing time, and guests are still talking about how great of a time they had, especially thanks to the DJ for keeping the party going! I would highly recommend Kim and No Macarena for your wedding, or any other special event. Absolutely perfect!

Got married in the Philadelphia Distilling Company, and Jonas was our DJ. Kim was super helpful setting everything up and recommending DJs that were available, and very affordable pricing. Jonas was professional and absolutely amazing. We gave him free reign with a playlist of only ~30 songs and he took it from there. The dance floor was packed immediately because of his approach – give him direction, let him do what he does best, and you’ll be really happy you chose him.
