Dave Beck, our DJ, was energetic and lively, but still paid attention to the details. On the day of the wedding, Dave kept everyone on the dance floor the entire night. He played a great mix of new and older music, keeping many generations out on the dance floor. We look back on the night fondly, remembering how much fun it looked like everyone was having at our wedding – and No Macarena helped provide the entertainment for it! Kim was our No Macarena DJ for our wedding at the Horticulture Center in October 2015. I can’t say enough great things about Kim. I’ve never hired a DJ before and she made the entire process really straightforward and easy. We had a few special needs that evening (our cocktail area was in a separate room, my husband had some very specific tastes with music, and we had a surprise musical guest) and Kim handled everything like a pro! Our dance floor was full the entire night and the energy was great. I would definitely recommend No Macarena to ANYONE in the Philly area.

DJ Rod was so detail oriented and took so much time in advance of the wedding to make sure our day was special and cater to our individual tastes. Our guests had a blast and so did we! He played all the songs we really wanted and didn’t leave any out which was so important to us. We also utilized No Macarena’s photo booth services and that was better than we ever could have expected! High quality photos printed for our guests and sent to use digitally after! Don’t hesitate to work with this company, they are amazing!

I couldn’t be more grateful to Kim for helping us set it up for for our DJ Josh for making sure everything ran smoothly. I provided Josh with a long list of songs and he added in filler when and where it was needed. Music cues were perfect all night and we got tons of compliments on everything. Seriously, it was a breeze to work with them and if you’re looking for a reliable, not-annoying, efficient DJ, I cannot recommend them enough. We’re so thankful!

We provided her with a list of some songs that we liked, and she was able to curate a great playlist from that. Not only was Kim a fantastic DJ, but she was great to work with. She clearly has a lot of experience and did a great job of taking the lead with planning. Going into the wedding day, we felt confident that music for the ceremony and reception was something we did not need to be worried about!

No Macarena was wonderful! Our DJ was Kim, and she was terrific. She was responsive and easy to work with, and she was very flexible and tuned into what my husband and I wanted. The day before the wedding, we realized it might be hard for guests to hear if we didn’t have a microphone for the ceremony, and Kim was willing to come early and set up a microphone even though we were using musicians for the ceremony and cocktail hour so we hadn’t booked her to start until the reception. She did that for a very reasonable additional cost and was extremely gracious about the last-minute nature of the request. She also did a great job of balancing our requests with guest requests and her own choices. Everyone loved the music!

He was a pleasure to work with; he adapted to our somewhat challenging venue seamlessly, and he was helpful with questions we had leading up to the event. He was careful to avoid songs we did not want, and he was flexible with our many requests. He also did a great job of reading the crowd and keeping the evening going at a good pace. Best of all, he had a great sense of humor, which showed through some clever song selections, so we had a ball. Even my sixty year-old mother thought Darrel did a great job, and that is high praise.

Evan, our DJ worked with the general list of artists that we liked and really catered to everyone, young and old. My husband’s aunt even told us it had been 20 years since she and her husband danced! We are music lovers, so we came with a lot of music recommendations which he primarily used. When he went off script (which he was allowed to :)) the music was still great. The guests had so much fun and so did we. Cannot recommend enough!

He was very conscientious about making sure our names were pronounced correctly and that everything was timed perfectly during our ceremony. Our big qualm with him was the selection of music that was played on our wedding day. We sent a list of song requests and songs not to play, which he was fantastic about sticking to, but we felt that the music he used to fill in the gaps for our requests was dated and didn’t fit the vibe of our younger crowd. It felt like contemporary music was significantly lacking among his song selections, and we were particularly miffed that he wasn’t familiar with an entire genre that we had specifically requested. Dave was truly a great guy and a pleasure to work with, but perhaps didn’t fit the demographic of our party.

DJ Evan Hoffman was amazing! We met with him before booking and we knew he was a perfect fit for our wedding. Evan was enthusiastic, attentive, and was genuinely happy to be part of our special day. We gave him a long list of songs we wanted to play during cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing and he played every single one of them without hesitation. He also seemed to find the perfect sequence for our song list and played each song at the right moment. When our venue offered an extra hour for our reception due to problems with the air conditioner, Evan was more than willing to stay. We made this extra time “all request hour “ and Evan played every one of our guests’ requests, even more obscure songs. Everyone commented on how great the music was thanks to Evan. He truly went above and beyond for us. Thank you for making our day so much fun, Evan!

My husband and I got married on 4/21/23 and we cannot say enough positive things about “No Macarena” DJ! From the beginning we had great communication and clear understanding of pricing and details. We were assigned Jonas early on and when we connected with him a few weeks before our wedding, we knew we got matched with the perfect DJ! He took the time to go through our lists of songs and spoke to us over the phone to confirm everything. We had to make a slight adjustment to the order of things the day of the wedding and he rolled with the punches. We wanted to make our wedding day feel special and intimate and the music was a huge part of that – they delivered! The dance floor was packed all night and guests of all ages were tearing it up. Jonas transitioned the songs seamlessly from all the different song genres we picked out. Our family and friends are still raving about how much fun they had at the wedding. My wife and I used to live in Latin America and had a lot of Latin music that you wouldn’t find on most playlists – Josh took the time to find all the songs we requested, helping to make it a memorable night. Josh also offered to record the ceremony and the toasts after dinner for a small extra charge. It’s not something that we would have thought to do, but we’re very glad now to have this as an extra memento.

It was No Macarena and I was 19 years old. Ten years later, my best friend got married and the DJ was really on the mark, so I asked my friend who the DJ was and she said No Macarena! So I didn’t really shop around for a wedding DJ. My husband and I had had fun making a playlist of music we thought would be fun to hear at a wedding. I shared it with Kim so that she could get a read on us, and she wound up playing a lot of it, which was great. We had entertained the idea of just using that playlist on an iPod and foregoing having a DJ, but we’re so glad we had Kim there to keep the party going. The price was very reasonable, and we were so happy with the whole event.

Kim, the owner, answered all of our questions/emails in a very timely/friendly manner. A customized sheet asking for requests/do not plays and information was given out specific for our event. Our DJ, Dave Beck, took into consideration our special requests and many of these slower, personalized, songs were played during the cocktail/dinner time. Requests were taken throughout the evening and no one stopped dancing. I cannot say enough about this company.

Me and my husband started making couple of long playlists months before the wedding. we gather all the songs that we really loved and the ones we had good memories with growing up: for dancing, slow dancing, reception, happy hour … We gave Joe those lists a week before the wedding. He was so great at receiving that huge list. I am Iranian and mu husband is American so there was a lot of International music there as well. Joe actually owned most of the music I sent him! He has a huge collection of diverse musics. we talked on the phone about what we really didn’t want and what we did want and he was so great at listening to all our needs and helping us through. On the day of wedding, he showed up dressed in a beautiful suit although it was a verrry hot day in September. He was absolutely professional. He played everything as it was planned. He had a great sense on seemlessly mixing all these different genres that we have given him. Everyone was on the dance floor having fun. He could feel the energy so well. He coordinated with the caterers and the photographer for every single detail that was needed in the back. We didn’t really want a loud DJ and Joe absolutely respected our wish. I would work with him again and again. Thank you so much for your incredible service!

We got to pick our own playlist, and our wonderful DJ, Rod, went above and beyond to make preparing the songs and the night itself seemless and perfect. Rod gave us a wonderfully personal touch and was flexible whenever we needed to make tweaks to the program or songs. He also sent us songs before hand so we could double check that what he would play during the first dance etc was exactly the version we wanted. The owners also had a baby while we were planning and still went out of their way to help us. I would recommend no macarena to anyone!

No Macarena was great! Joe Pizzio was the DJ for our wedding, including ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Both he and Kim (the owner of the company) were easy to work with and professional. Joe did a great job listening to our music preferences and our vision for the different parts of the event, from 60’s pop during cocktail hour to soft indie during dinner. His playlists perfectly matched our musical taste. Joe did a great job during the dance party at the reception. He kept our crowd dancing and having fun! He mixed well-known songs and our more idiosyncratic requests in a way that kept the dance party going while still giving us the chance to dance to some of our more offbeat favorites. We highly recommend No Macarena and Joe for anyone who wants music choices that are a little unconventional.

Prior to the wedding we submitted a list of songs we liked to D.J. Jonas. He called us and provided really good feedback on the list. He understand our taste in music and made a few good suggestions on songs we could add that would cater to some of our older guests. At the wedding, D.J. Jonas was great. He really took charge of organizing our fairly large wedding party for introductions and stuck to playing the music he requested. The day after the wedding, one of our guests complained that D.J. Jonas, despite taking some requests from guests, refused to play the Kelly Clarkson song she requested. That is when I truly realized D.J. Jonas’s value! We cannot say enough about No Macarena. One of our best wedding planning decisions was hiring Kim Alexander. She was FANTASTIC! From our first conversation with her, we were impressed. She was attentive to detail, incredibly knowledgeable, asked great questions to figure out our taste, and made the whole process super easy and fun. My now husband and I have quite an eclectic taste in music and we had some unique requests for dinner/cocktail hour – she absolutely nailed the song selection for the night and we seriously could not be happier. Our guests (almost all 165 of them, from all different age groups) were up dancing ALL night – from the first song ’til the last. We loved how simple everything was and how easy Kim was to work with. The music was a HUGE highlight of our wedding night and we have Kim and No Macarena to thank for that. Going into my wedding night, I did not anticipate dancing the entire time, but it turned out that I couldn’t leave the dance floor – it was too much fun.

No Macarena was recommended to me by a friend of a friend who had them at her wedding. From my first interaction with Kim she was upbeat, helpful and professional. Darrell was our DJ and when we met with him to discuss our plan, he was knowledgeable about the playlist and agenda we sent over to him, and clearly reviewed it all thoroughly prior to our chat. He respected our wishes of staying off the mic except for a few announcements (which I think is just their “thing” anyway!) and not allowing any ridiculous requests to be played — but did so in a respectful manner with our guests. He kept the entire night flowing, not just with the music, but with each event that happened (first dance, dinner, etc). The music was appropriate for the time of the evening each step of the way, and he was just truly a great person to work with. We’d recommend No Macarena to anyone, and I hope my friends have them at their event so we can experience it as guests!

As we started looking for alternatives, we quickly realized that not all DJs are made the same. No Macarena was EXACTLY the type of DJ company that we never knew we always wanted. None of the obnoxious/random yelling from the DJ booth and none of the cheesy line dances. We were lucky enough to get Kim Alexander, owner of the company, and she was awesome! Numerous people told us how great the music was at our wedding, from the prelude to the last song, and our guests kept the dance floor full at all times! Kim was professional, sweet, and very easy to work with. She played all of our “must-plays” and NONE of our “do-not-plays”. From the list of songs/artists we gave her, she NAILED our musical style for the entire 6 hours. We had such a wonderful experience working with Kim and No Macarena. We can’t thank you enough!

The planning process was incredibly easy, and Josh walked through the actual event with us over the phone the weekend before. The audio for the ceremony was perfect, we think the cocktail hour was great (we were off taking pictures, of course 😛 ) and the reception went off without a hitch. Wedding party introductions, toasts, first/parent dances–Josh kept everything flowing without any distracting “DJ chatter.” Best of all–our dance floor was packed! They were also able to move everything for the reception inside last minute and it was an absolute party. Alex could not have been more accommodating. She took on all my specifics and requests (admittedly there were a lot!) and asked a lot of great questions to get an understanding of what the guests at our wedding would enjoy hearing. We really hate when DJs essentially harass guests into dancing or participating in wedding activities (garter toss? just….no.) so we immediately clicked with the company’s name. We had a couple of wrenches thrown into the reception, and Kim responded quickly and with grace. She’s flexible and is so professional that she doesn’t mind if plans need to change. In fact, it began POURING the hour before our outdoor ceremony and we stubbornly insisted on continuing plans for outside. Kim went along with it and made us feel better 🙂 Our friends had a great time dancing, and my favorite part by far was circling up in a huge group to the last song, “Closing Time.” Because ’90s.

We had planned on having laid back wedding and the music was something that was very important to us. We strongly believe that music is a very big part of what makes a wedding great. But we both didn’t like the idea of a “Wedding DJ”. Someone who yells in that radio jockey voice trying to pump up the crowd into having a good time. No Macarena, specifically Kim, was exactly who we were looking for. Sure we went over what we wanted to hear but Kim put her extra special spin on it and one of the things our wedding guests keep mentioning to us is how incredible our DJ was. Her sound system is also incredible. She played the acoustic song for my walk down the aisle and people said they felt like the person was there performing the song live. Zero complaints, only praise. If you want to make your wedding extra special you will look into Kim and No Macarena before you even waste your time researching anyone else.

He was able to pick the music up just right when we asked him to get people on the dance floor, and he checked in with us when the Groomsmen had a few special song requests that don’t really fit at a wedding so we could approve/deny appropriately. We had him bring extra equipment with late notice and he made everything run so smoothly. My husband even reached out to him secretly before the wedding to coordinate a surprise for me in lieu of his mother-son dance, which Darrel helped him pull off flawlessly. Kim was very easy to communicate with during the planning process. Josh took the time to get our song preferences including songs we did not want to hear. He was very good about respectfully letting the guests know which songs we had asked not to be played. He played every single song we did request, and the flow of the evening went so well. Josh had some great suggestions for the event too. For example, my husband and I were feeling a little nervous about a traditional first dance with all eyes on us. Josh helped us structure a first dance that was much more relaxed and open to all the guests but still gave us that special moment. Overall, this group takes the time to get to know their clients and build the perfect evening. They have amazing music knowledge and were able to keep everyone on the dance floor. Our DJ (Ken) was not over the top — he had just the right amount of interaction with the crowd. We gave him a VERY comprehensive list of what to play and what not to play — and he followed it to a tee — and even easily changed it up when things weren’t getting going. If you want no ‘cheese’, this is the company to use. We needed him to play our ceremony music, too, and he did a fabulous job. When our guests made requests, he was able to accomodate them quickly. Kim found a way to blend together our ‘must-haves’ with similar songs in the genre and when we gave her our “no play” list, we could feel the high-five through the phone as we could tell she was tired of playing them too. So many guests remarked how our set list was incredible. At a typical wedding, the music hits and misses with a few solid dance songs that get people out there, a few groaners that people begrudgingly dance to and some “huh?” songs that people use as an excuse to nibble their dessert or grab another drink. We hired No Macarena primarily because it was one of the preferred vendors of our venue. Being that we live 3,000 miles from our venue, we really relied on word of mouth from trusted sources. No Macarena comes highly recommended not only by our venue/caterer, but also from other vendors within the Philadelphia area. From my first conversation with Kim, I knew I wanted to work with No Macarena. She was extremely professional and personable. She worked with us early, and touched base occasionally during our planning. We talked more during the last month, finalizing playlists, going over the ceremony, and finessing the details of the first dances. She worked incredibly well with our day-of coordinator. While we had a playlist, Kim was able to read the crowd to determine what would work and when. I didn’t select every song, but it didn’t matter–each time I looked at the dance floor, there were people out partying it up! No Macarena is not your typical wedding or Bar Mitzvah DJ–there’s no MC-ing, no showboating. Kim knows her music and she plays it.

The dance floor was full the entire night. Dave has a great personality – he interjected himself when necessary to move the night along but he never made himself the center of attention. We were thrilled with our experience with No Macarena. They DJ’d our wedding at Bok in South Philly in September 2018. Our initial communication was with Kim Alexander (owner), who took the time to understand our needs and work out our contract. A few weeks before our wedding, we had a great phone call with our DJ (Joe Pizzio) who was outstanding to work with. We had been considering doing the DIY/Spotify route and Joe was great about taking the playlists we had compiled and putting his own spin on them. He largely stuck with the songs we’d been considering (without making us feel weird about it) but had some great additions and really made the evening flow — lots of thoughtful transitions (Lauryn Hill’s “Doo Wop” into Drake’s “Nice For What”, which features a Lauryn Hill sample in the hook, wasn’t lost on us), wasn’t afraid to transition out of a song that the room wasn’t not feeling, etc. Can’t speak highly enough about how pleased we were with Joe and No Macarena in general. Highly recommended!

Darrell was our DJ and when we met with him to discuss our plan, he was knowledgeable about the playlist and agenda we sent over to him, and clearly reviewed it all thoroughly prior to our chat. He respected our wishes of staying off the mic except for a few announcements (which I think is just their “thing” anyway!) and not allowing any ridiculous requests to be played — but did so in a respectful manner with our guests. He kept the entire night flowing, not just with the music, but with each event that happened (first dance, dinner, etc). The music was appropriate for the time of the evening each step of the way, and he was just truly a great person to work with. We’d recommend No Macarena to anyone, and I hope my friends have them at their event so we can experience it as guests!

Guests of all ages spent the entire night on the dance floor. He crafted a play list that met our style the whole evening through. From scheduling with Kim a year in advance, to a conference call with Evan the week of the wedding to confirm what we wanted- working with No Macarena was a pleasure. The evening of our rehearsal we realized the the nearby air conditioning unit was louder than we were. In a moment of panic I called Evan, who within minutes, less than 24 hours before the wedding arranged to bring and set up a second sound system for the ceremony. The music was seemless, and it is notable that in every photo of our reception, our guests were dancing- thanks to Evan at No Macarena!

Chris and Sarah were great with accommodating my requests, as I wanted dance floor lighting and equipment for karaoke. Our DJ, Peter, allowed us to choose songs for each part of the night. I gave him a few playlists, and he played what I wanted. I have been to so many weddings that don’t respect the couple’s wishes. “No Macarena” respects you, listens to you, and follows through. Peter’s DJ table was also super fun, and smaller– which worked wonderfully as we were in a smaller venue. I wanted a DJ that would let me play whatever I wanted, and prepare a karaoke song– and I got just that! They are truly a custom music service.

We could not have asked for a better DJ than Darrel. He did a phenomenal job of knowing exactly what our guests wanted to hear. My husband and I have extremely different tastes in music, and somehow Darrel figured out how to keep both of us happy AND keep our dance floor packed all night. So many of our guests complimented us on our song list, and we had to tell them that Darrel deserved full credit; we told him what we generally like and dislike and let him run with it, and he absolutely crushed it. Plus, we told Darrel that volume and sound quality are important to us, and he made sure that the music was loud enough to keep the party going but that we did not have to shout to have conversations. We’d give more than 5 stars if we could!

We used No Macarena for our wedding and they were amazing. First, working with Kim was very easy and a great experience. Our DJ ended up being Darrel and he was truly the perfect DJ for our event! We sent him a Spotify play list and he did such a good job bringing some of those songs into the playlist as well as elaborating on our taste to make it an overall great mix of songs. He was thoughtful throughout the entire evening and went with the flow when things were changed up a bit. He did a great job of announcing the events of the evening without being on the mic too much. Darrel was able to read the dance floor and kept the party going the entire night. Our goal was to have a DJ who wasn’t corny but we ended up getting so much more! She worked with me to make sure my cousin and uncle (the family musicians) could play while I walked down the aisle and provided three extra microphones to allow this to happen. I had a long conversation with the DJ before the event in order for him to understand what music my groom and I wanted to be played. He was very easy to talk to and understood exactly what we wanted. The music played during our cocktail hour, dinner and dancing was perfect. Guests danced all night long and wanted more music once the reception was over. The DJ traveled from Philly to Cape May, NJ for the wedding for a minimal travel cost. It was well worth it! I recommend this DJ to anyone!

Darrel was amenable to changes during the reception as well. A couple times I went over to him and made a very specific music request and he did his best to accommodate. After we had to move our wedding date and lost our wedding DJ, we reached out to No Macarena for help at the last minute. We worked with Christian who was kind and understood what we wanted. He had a great mix of crowd pleasers and our requested songs. We weren’t terribly specific because we wanted some element of surprise and we were pleased with the result. Dancing wasn’t allowed due to Delaware COVID policy, but he really brought a sense of joy without too much energy. To be frank, as the bride I wasn’t paying attention too much to the music, but it was so nice to hear a song I recognized once in a while. We really wanted a party that took care of our guests, and Christian did a great job of maintaining a good mood. I saw glimpses of people enjoying the music and my conservative mother dancing in her seat, so that’s always a good sign! They’re great if you want a reliably good time.

Our one goal for the wedding was to throw the most epic dance party and ensure that all of our guests had a ball. Our assigned DJ was Dave Devlin, and we were so impressed with him. He called us the week before to finalize arrangements and get a feel for the wedding. He assured us he could steer the ship well, and we had complete faith in him. However, nothing would truly prepare us for just how well he did it. He gracefully navigated our large bridal party and nailed the pronunciation of everyone’s names, seamlessly DJd between our three locations (outside for ceremony, barn for cocktail hour, and pavilion for reception), truly understood the feel we were aiming for, and flawlessly executed the most EPIC wedding ever. Kim (the owner) was even able to get music from random YouTube videos we found. I was blown away by the professionalism and talent. I don’t think one person sat down the entire time. Huge huge thank yous to Dave and Kim and everyone at No Macarena.

I gave her a huge list of songs I wanted played at the cocktail hour/dinner and she worked in a few other songs she knew I’d like and I was extremely happy with the results. My husband and I spent most of cocktail hour taking family formals so we didn’t get to hear much of the music so she gave us a cd of all the songs used for the cocktail hour which was such a nice touch! She even did the music for our ceremony and edited down our song for our recessional which sounded amazing and added to the ambiance. The volume was perfect, no one was screaming to be heard but it still rocked and everyone was up dancing! If you’re looking for a wonderful, professional, friendly and affordable DJ, No Macarena is seriously the way to go! You won’t be disappointed! 🙂

We are SO happy that we chose to work with No Macarena for our wedding. Jonas was our DJ and he was great from the start. We had a call with Jonas after we submitted the form with our suggested songs and he was completely on the same page with what we were looking for. There were a few songs that he suggested removing to create a more cohesive theme and he helped us think through the flow of the entrance, first dance and cake cut. We were planning to have our friend play guitar and another friend sing for the ceremony. The night before the wedding, the guitar player let us know that his flight was cancelled and he wouldn’t make it to the wedding. We emailed Jonas to see if he could handle the music for the ceremony and, even though it was 11 at night, he emailed back right away saying that he could help. He gave suggestions of songs to play and worked with our friend who was singing to play background music for her song. We are so grateful that Jonas saved the day! The dance floor was packed the entire night and everyone was raving about the music. We had said people could request songs but asked Jonas to not play any line dance songs. One of our young nieces requested a line dance and Jonas, realizing who she was, sought me out to see if we were ok playing it. It was really thoughtful of him and totally made her night. We highly recommend No Macarena and can’t thank Jonas enough for the fantastic job he did at our wedding.

They were very responsive and checked in often through and calls and emails leading up to our wedding. There were a lot of questions that we didn’t have answers to that they took care of, and were super knowledgeable about every single step. At the wedding, they were not only amazing DJs who kept the crowd dancing all night, but they also provided live acoustic music throughout the ceremony and cocktail hour. Chris emceed the entire event flawlessly. He hyped up the crowd leading up to every announcement and was accommodating and supportive when we asked for last minute changes. Finally, they checked in after our day and sent us beautiful photos from the DJ booth. I had a completely stress free event thanks to them, and I would recommend them to literally anyone for their day.

We enjoyed working with Kim, and our DJ (Dave) was great! He was flexible about a few last-minute changes to introductions, and about working with the house sound system. He played appropriate dinner music so that the meal was served and eaten smoothly (we even got to eat!). Some folks commented that they were concerned about the low/slow music during the meal at first, but looking back realized that it was the perfect transition. Dave definitely drew from our list of requests, and stuck to the company name by refusing to play any tacky party songs. Dave did the intros for our entrance and for speeches and special dances, but other than that he didn’t make a peep. Some folks commented that they hardly knew the DJ was there — which is great! This was a wedding, not a sweet 16 or bar mitzvah! His unobtrusiveness let us enjoy ourselves and visit with our guests without interruption. Interactions with him and Kim were easy — other than the initial meeting we did everything by phone and email. We found having a DJ to be a great value — we got exactly the music we wanted for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception.

From the ceremony music to the reception music, the toasts to the parent dances, and our last dance and send off, he was on the ball. He incorporated our music into music that our guests loved, and really made the night feel like it was ours. We even had a few surprises we wanted to do and Dave executed them flawlessly. Kim and I spoke a couple weeks before our wedding and she went through all of our music choices with me and definitely understood the vibe we wanted. Kim played music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. She did such a wonderful job being low key, feeling out our crowd and playing appropriate and awesome music! We received so many compliments afterwards from our guests telling us how much fun they had, especially on the dance floor. Kim kept the dancing going the entire night, which is something I was really hoping for! At one point we asked Kim to at “Let it Go” from Frozen, as it is our daughter and other flower girl’s favorite song, and Kim played it immediately! It definitely wasn’t a typical request, but Kim made it happen and our daughter put on quite the performance – it’s one of our favorite memories from the night! I would recommend No Macarena to any couple getting married, but especially to those who want a low key DJ who will only play music that you want and that will keep everyone dancing!

Kim was very easy to communicate with during the planning process. Josh took the time to get our song preferences including songs we did not want to hear. He was very good about respectfully letting the guests know which songs we had asked not to be played. He played every single song we did request, and the flow of the evening went so well. Josh had some great suggestions for the event too. For example, my husband and I were feeling a little nervous about a traditional first dance with all eyes on us. Josh helped us structure a first dance that was much more relaxed and open to all the guests but still gave us that special moment. Overall, this group takes the time to get to know their clients and build the perfect evening. They have amazing music knowledge and were able to keep everyone on the dance floor. When I found No Macarena I knew they were right up our alley and we booked them, it was the 2nd thing we booked after the venue. Kim was our DJ and she was awesome! We needed music for our outside ceremony, the inside cocktail hour and reception so there was a lot to coordinate but the transition was so smooth and the sound was great. Kim worked from an extensive list of songs that we suggested and of course a “do not play” list. She also knew exactly what other similar bands and songs to play based on our tastes. I can’t say enough about No Macarena and Kim, they are professional, classy and play amazing music! The success of our wedding could not have been possible without them. Thank you!

I’ll admit that what piqued my interest in No Macarena first was the excellent name. As soon as my now-husband and I spoke to Kim, though, we realized that the name was far from the only fantastic thing about the company. The whole ethos of helping to pick our own music was brilliant (and a blast for my music-loving husband). Even more brilliant? Joe, our DJ, who was such fun to talk to that I’m pretty sure we all gabbed for an hour each time he called to check in, and who worked flawlessly with our suggestions to create the perfect soundtrack to the whole day. He also had a mic ready to go when I lost my voice and needed help croaking my way through my vows, rolled with requests to rearrange songs on the spur of the moment, and emcee’d exactly the moments that needed managing without ever being intrusive. We lucked out beyond measure with Joe and No Macarena; I’d recommend both in a heartbeat!

We initially booked with No Macarena back in November 2022; it was an easy process to get started, and then we didn’t really think much more about it until a couple months before the wedding. No Macarena’s policy is to wait to pair you with a DJ until a couple weeks before the event, which was somewhat stressful for us — but the moment we connected with Rod, we were at ease. He was so warm, personable, and attentive! We met via Zoom to connect and talk through what we were needing and hoping for with the music for our wedding (ceremony, cocktail hour and reception). He asked the right questions, and we felt confident that we were all on the same page leading up to the wedding 🙂 And everything went so smoothly on the day-of! The dance floor was full from the moment it opened until the last song — partially because we have family and friends who love to dance, and partially because Rod is so skilled at reading the room. We’d highly recommend working with him!

We hired “No Macarena” DJ & Custom Music Service for our recent wedding, and we could not have had a better experience. Our wedding planner (an alum from the live music production industry) recommended Kim at “No Macarena” to us, and we were so happy with her services. After all the more traditional wedding elements, we wanted a great dance party where all of our guests would have a great time, and that’s exactly what we got. All communication with Kim was punctual, friendly and professional, and she was able to adeptly incorporate all (seriously, all) of our song requests, even the ones that were somewhat obscure or unusual. She took the time to have a detailed conversation with us ahead of time to clarify the genres of music we were going for, and she made sure to discuss any specific song requests that needed a place in the flow of the dancing. We landed on a mix of ’70s disco and ’80s-’90s hip hop, with some current dance hits mixed in, based on the age ranges of our guests and our preferences. She nailed this mixture perfectly and every song had a combination of the younger and older guests all dancing and singing along. She avoided all the stereotypical wedding songs we thought were overplayed, and of course avoided all the line dancing songs we didn’t want, too. Even though I was the bride and probably should have been visiting with guests more throughout the night, I was on the dance floor all night instead. I couldn’t get over the song selection and how she knew to play certain songs that we hadn’t even necessarily discussed in our phone conversation, especially those that had personal meaning to us even if they weren’t necessarily crowd favorites. “No Macarena” truly made our wedding special to us and a ton of fun for our guests – we highly recommend Kim and her team to anyone in the Philly area looking for a DJ. We can’t thank you enough, Kim!

Note: I booked with Kim, the owner, nearly a year in advance and she assigned me another DJ who I spoke with and got references for. About two weeks before the wedding, Kim emailed to tell me there was a change and Evan would be our DJ. I was a bit nervous, but Evan made me feel better immediately by responding quickly to my intro email, agreeing to meet me to review our songs and just being friendly, helpful and awesome. It couldn’t have worked out any better.

They moved quickly and set up a time to discuss by phone what we had in mind for our wedding. They asked all the right questions and thought of details that never would have occurred to us. We had asked our guests who RSVPed through the website to name a song that would get them dancing. We gave our DJ, Josh, this rather eclectic list along with a considerable list of our own requests, including a number of foreign language songs (Italian) that I’m sure were not part of his usual lineup. He honored them all and did an excellent job of choosing other songs based on our tastes, reading the room and taking us seamlessly through different musical styles. Everyone from the disco-loving aunts to the Miami Reggaeton-fan cousins danced, and even my music snob friends commented on how much they liked the music.

Kim was very responsive and gave us great direction in planning the music for our wedding reception. As part of the planning processing, Kim had us complete an information sheet on our musical likes and dislikes. Initially, we went way over board, proposing at least 100 songs we thought should be played at our wedding reception at different times. Kim leveled with us (gently), and recommended that she work with the themes and play our top songs (thank you Kim!). Kim was 100% right. She responded to the feelings of the crowd and kept the party going all night. Kim made sure to save our favorite songs for when we were on the dance floor. No Macarena was a top vendor for our wedding. Kim was so professional, responsive, and easy to work with. We received countless compliments on our DJ from our guests and even other vendors. We found No Macrena’s pricing to be very reasonable, especially given the quality and overall experience. I would 100% book with No Macarena again and have since recommended No Macarena to other brides

She played every song we had requested and then some. It was so nice not having to worry about this aspect of the wedding on top of everything else. I would recommend No Macarena to anyone in that area!
